The Sustainable Event Professional Certificate (SEPC) is the Events Industry Council’s signature program for event professionals committed to advancing sustainability and social impact in the global business events industry. Designed for planners, suppliers, and stakeholders across the meetings and events sector, this self-paced, online course equips you with the knowledge, tools, and practical strategies needed to create events that are resilient, environmentally responsible, and socially inclusive.
Developed by a diverse group of global industry leaders and sustainability experts, the SEPC course includes 16 interactive modules covering essential topics such as:
- Building the business case for sustainable events
- Reducing carbon emissions and environmental impact
- Designing inclusive and accessible experiences
- Implementing sustainable supply chain practices
- Measuring and reporting results for lasting impact
Participants gain access to a digital workbook filled with real-world case studies, activities, and templates to help you create a customized sustainability roadmap for your events. The course culminates in a Final Capstone Project, where you’ll apply your learning to design a comprehensive sustainability plan. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive 12 Continuing Education (CE) credits, a certificate, and a digital badge to showcase your achievement.
